Report on Proposal to the Santa Fe City Council’s Finance Committee Ishwari Sollohub and Rebecca Álvarez recently attended the Finance Committee meeting where Councilor Carol Romero-Wirth introduced the proposal to amend Santa Fe’s public finance rules to allow matching double contributions from the city fund up to $100, which would level the playing field and mitigate the influence of Big Money in city elections. Come hear what’s happening with this proposal and how you can help make it successful.

Santa Fe Dreamers Project will present on How Money In Politics Influences Immigration Policy Santa Fe Dreamers Project is a non-profit legal services organization serving New Mexico’s immigrant community. Since their beginning in 2014, the Dreamers Project has served primarily immigrant youth and families, focusing on economic and community development. Recently, there was a hearing at the roundhouse about the role private immigration detention facilities play in New Mexico. Learn more about how money in politics influences policy decisions around this and other topics in immigration.
